KS is caused by an excessive proliferation of spindle cells probably of endothelial origin. The pathophysiology of the disease is complex and for now, incompletely understood, the most studied element being the relathionship with HHV-8 coinfection.

AIDS-related KS has a sarcoma cancer lesions clinical course but most patients present with extensive cutaneous disease. The therapy of KS has been markedly influenced by HAART, the optimal control of HIV infection with specific antiviral medication being an integral part of a successful result and the first step în the management of the disease.

Various local and systemic treatments are now associated and potential new avenues of therapy antiviral, antiangiogenic, immunomodulatory agents are being investigated.

SK este caracterizat printr-o proliferare excesivă a celulelor fuziforme, cel mai probabil de origine endotelială. Fiziopatologia bolii este una complexă şi, momentan, incomplet înțeleasă, cel mai studiat element fiind relația cu co-infecția HHV8.

Abstract An 8-year-old spayed female Netherland Dwarf rabbit presented with a two-month history of dyspnea and snoring. A computed tomography CT scan of the head revealed mass lesions in the right nasal cavity. Surgical exenteration of the lesions was performed, and the histopathological diagnosis was an intranasal adenocarcinoma. On the basis of this diagnosis, radiotherapy was planned and consisted of eight fractions of 6 Gy administered once a week.

Evoluția clinică sarcoma cancer lesions SK HIV-asociat este una variabilă dar, se admite ca majoritatea pacienților dezvoltă afectare cutanată extinsă. Terapia HAART a marcat considerabil managementul cazurilor de SK epidemic şi este considerată în momentul de față nu doar parte integrantă ci şi prima etapă în tratamentul bolii. Majoritatea cazurilor au nevoie de tratamente asociate, locale şi sistemice şi, se afl ă în studiu noi agenți terapeutici cu proprietăți antivirale, antiangiogenetice şi imunomodulatoare.
